Heartburn

All this medications for heart burn are out there, but what to chose? What will work better? Well, the truth is they all work the same way, so it doesn’t matter which one you take, you get the same result. How do these medications work? Simple chemistry, Heart burn is caused by stomach ulcer, it travels up the esophagus and damages it. Medications have chemicals that when combined with acid will turn stomach acid into salt and water. Salt and water can’t hurt esophagus and heard burn is taken care of. Sounds great doesn’t it? Well, we need acid to digest food, this is what our body produces it for. Without acid, food will not get digested and will stay in the stomach and will rot.

There are foods that trigger increase in acid production, with too much acid, heart burn can occur. If you have heart burn, STOP EATING FOODS THAT TRIGER IT!!! Honestly, if you eat something and you don’t feel well afterwards, then why eat it? Yes stake might taste really good, but when you have a choice between getting holes in your esophagus, having rotten meat in your stomach and not eating stake, not eating a stake will not hurt you as much as the other two choices.

As soon as we start chewing, our body starts getting ready to digest this food, stomach acid starts getting produced as a result of these preparations. Once food gets into the stomach, it neutralizes acidity a little. Chewing gums throw off this natural process, acid is produced, but food is not getting digested. This can result in excess stomach acid just sitting there waiting for an opportunity to get out. The more often you chew gum, the higher are the chances that you will have heart burn.

If you had heart burn for a long time every time you eat, there is a good chance that esophagus got damaged, plus acid can damage the stomach itself and small intestines. What can be done to help this problem? It would be really nice if we could get something to cover the walls of the digestive tract to prevent acid from destroying the walls of your own organs. Would be even better if this extra layer could be digested once you are done using it, wouldn’t it be? Guess what, there are two things that can do it, and not only that they will help with heart burns and ulcers, they can help with other health problems. First remedy doesn’t smell too good, it’s fish oil. You have to take it in a liquid form right before you eat your meal, oil will cover the digestive tract. The second remedy requires preparation, it’s flax seeds. Take one glass of water, boil it and then add 2 table spoons of flax seeds to the boiling water. Boil it for 15 minutes and you will end up with slimy fluid, this slime can do wonders for your digestive system as well as many other things in your body. The bad thing about flex seeds is that it needs preparation and it’s slimy texture is not the most pleasant, it doesn’t taste bad though and there is no foul smell. Slime made of flax seeds can be kept for 24 hours before it starts loosing it’s effectiveness, so you will need to make it only once per day. Drink third of the glass 5-10 minutes before the meal and you are all set.
